Subtle Mind

Peaceful breathing does lead to peaceful mind. I practiced this at my desk, with all the commotion going on around me. I again, liked the ocean sound, just like the Loving Kindness practice. Ten deep breaths were a lot for me, but I did it. My mind did wander and I will practice this throughout the week. Spiritual wellness, mentally and psychically, relieves a lot of stress for me. This can ruin a person’s life if it takes control of you. I know I am not where I want to be spiritual, but I know where I want to be. I must get there,, before it is too late. Maybe I should live by the beach.

  1. Moving to the beach is a great goal to set for yourself. I believe that we should all be close enough to nature to escape regularly. Escaping to nature is the best way to rejuvenate yourself even if you have not mastered mental wellness yet. It is funny how Mother Nature reboots us as humans with such ease like a perfect drug.

  2. I thought this technique was a little easier as we were focusing on the breath instead of a person. The ten breaths were a little much for me too, but it did relax me some before getting started which I am sure is the purpose. I have such a hard time shutting my mind off, but did sort of feel like concentrating on my breathing help to quiet those thoughts and not connect on just one thing.

  3. Living by the beach would be wonderful! I grew up on Lake Erie and I used to go to the beach and just sit and watch the waves, it was so relaxing. Sitting by the water has always been my favorite place to relax, my grandparents had a river that ran through their property and when I was growing up I would go down and sit at the edge and enjoy the sound and the light playing on the ripples, watch the minnows & craw fish, very peaceful! It's amazing how shallow we normally we breath, and don't even realize it until we focus on our breath and try to breathe deep!
    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I do agree, living by the beach would be awesome. I like the ocean sounds too, but ten deep breaths are a lot without wandering a bit. I will also try this technique through the week to improve my meditation/relaxation time. Good post and good luck.

  5. Hello, I agree that the breathing exercises are relaxing as well as the water sounds. Living by the beach would definitely be nice and relaxing too for the most part aside from the hurricanes haha.

  6. Hi Billie,

The beach does sound like a nice peaceful place to live. Wake up to beautiful blue water, sound of the waves, fresh smelling air.....ok Im wanting to go to the beach now. Everyone takes time to get to that certain place they need to be. Just stay motivated and you will get there sooner than you think.
